Hi, and thanks for reading. I’m Vicki, and I’m still an omnivore. My two co-writers/chefs/testers/reviewers have been vegetarian for a while. I’m just coming around.
We have – well, I wouldn’t call it an issue, really, but a special consideration. Neither of the guys in the household has any interest in going vegetarian, and are likely to react severely should one mention bacon withdrawal. We love these two devotees of artery-cloggin’ goodness, and don’t want them to feel like second-class citizens or in any way left out. So we’ll be looking for meals that bridge both ends of the spectrum.
For many reasons – humane treatment of animals, health benefits (my iffy cholesterol readings…), the local economy, and the taste – oh, my, the taste – of real, fresh local food, we’re leaning vegetarian. This blog is a chronicle of what we’re eating and what we’re learning along the way.
